The Fury Project just got all Zen. It felt like a needed change of tack. So we changed up the logo and decided that The Bear had run its course. Now we are moving into deeper transformation mode. It is our mission to take anger and make it a friend for life. To use it to make some real changes with lasting impact.TO view it as something that can fuel rather than inflame and destroy.

To transform you must reflect. To reflect you must be still. To be still you must silence the noise around you with the focus, perseverance and patience of the Japenese artists Ai Weiwei painting the  a million ceramic sunflower seeds. The labour of transformation is forcing  yourself to change the script. It's hard work but then  life is. As anger is blatantly nothing more spectacular than the gazillion shades of emotions we are all capable with, it time to really make friends with it.

The Anger Transformation Jukebox has a home on tumblr now. You can listen and add you own stories and see how through talking about anger, people have found a sense of peace with it - like staring a demon down. I have to feature Lucas's story, who as a youth,  brought the potential for domestic violence in his home to end with his incredible approach to dealing with anger.

So get involved. Share your story.

Packing away the Transformation Tree

It was the last day of the Fury porjecy tree and before packing it down I had to hug it. It had been a taxing process but so invigorating and thought provoking, as so many people had left a imprint on the tree, sharing their stories, binding and then adding thier energy to the vines of the tree.
Cherrelle and I ate a slap up Thai meal to celebrate. We sent Katie pictures of our food, and cyber High Fived her by text, while she choreographed  in sub zero conditions for the Russian Winter Games.
And so The Fury Project get taste of what it feel like to be a concrete piece of visual art with film and stroy telling at a button from The Fury Transformation Jukebox. However, this is not the end of the project, nor the the final exhibiting and performance of the Tree. There is more to come. Watch this space. Zena

Bonding 'n' Binding Sessions Continued - Evolutions

So we have been a-binding at Kings College as part of the Urban Dialogues Art installation commission we won from 3 Faiths forum. Some lovely little creations have been coming forth as we talk and connect about out experiences of anger as women.
The plan is to make an installation of an impression of a tree made from fabric and thread that houses  The Transforming Fury Jukebox loaded with 101 stories of people talking about their relationship with and perceptions of anger.  Right now, we are at the vine making stage.

What's been amazing about this work (fun) is  the confirmation that the installation is not about the tree and the vines intend to build as the finished piece; the installation IS the process, the act of making and sharing  these moments.

We've had open sessions for others to come and join us. Andrea came and did some binding while sharing a story about her disabled sister, who suffers from sickle cell  anemia being discriminated against and talked badly of at a …
